In the fast-changing environment of employment law we are frequently asked for our expert advice by corporate clients on issues such as drafting employment contracts for senior executives and consultancy agreements for one-off engagements.
We also advise on all aspects of employees’ rights. Both employees and employers seek our help on a range of employment issues such as claims relating to unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, breaches of contract and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
Recent work includes obtaining an injunction and significant damages on behalf of a leading financial institution against a client’s former employee and his new employer, following breaches of restrictive covenants and acting for another leading financial institution in connection with breaches of restrictive covenants and the recovery of client information misappropriated by a former employee.
The former employee was subsequently successfully prosecuted under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2004 and made the subject of a Jersey Financial Services Commission public statement and directions preventing him from holding any position in the business of a person registered under the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998.
