Dickinson Gleeson is celebrating retaining its rankings in the Legal 500 UK 2020. These rankings confirm the firm’s expertise in offshore dispute resolution as well as in private client, trusts and tax matters. The firm’s two founding partners have retained their status in the Hall of Fame and the majority of the firm’s lawyers are individually ranked and singled out for praise.
The firm is described as having “lawyers sophisticated and experienced enough to tackle the most complex and challenging of big commercial and trust cases”.
James Dickinson (Hall of Fame) is described as “…extraordinarily hard working, and very bright. He wants to understand everything and attains a really strong grasp of the factual issues and legal nuances of a case. Not afraid to get stuck in and robust on his feet. Extremely thorough in his preparations and devastatingly effective in court.”
James Gleeson (Hall of Fame) is “…cerebrally intelligent, and wears it lightly. Very, very good lawyer to have on your side in a complex commercial or chancery dispute.”
Partner Craig Swart is once again listed as a Leading Individual in the Private Client, Trusts and Tax section of the directory.
The two most recent litigation partners, Robert Christie (Next Generation Partner) and Guillaume Staal (Rising Star) are also noted for their abilities:
“Robert Christie is an absolute star. His approach combines intellectual rigour with an ever-practical instinct for the winning argument. He has a fantastic work manner and gets on very well with clients and barristers alike.”
Guillaume Staal is called “A future star. A very understated but very intelligent legal mind.” Senior Associate Pierre Ali-Noor (Rising Star) is described as being “hard working, charming and diligent. He really gets into the meat of a case.”
James Dickinson said of this year’s accomplishments: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised once more for our team’s intellectual and tactical abilities in complex dispute resolution matters and for our work in the private wealth sphere. For a firm of this size to have key practitioners across both our practice areas praised individually is a commendable achievement, fitting for our tenth year in operation.”
2020 continues to be another good year for Dickinson Gleeson, with the firm having won the Citywealth IFC Boutique Law Firm of the Year for the third consecutive year. The firm has also been nominated as the Legal 500’s Offshore Law Firm of the Year 2020, which it won in 2017 and for the fifth time, been nominated as a finalist for the prestigious 2020 STEP PCA Boutique Law Firm of the Year.
